World OCR Commissions

The organization of World OCR includes the following commissions: Athletes, Governance, Legal, Medical, Para-athlete, Safe Sport, Technical and Women's. All Commissions report to the Executive Committee, and all Commission members have the right to attend Executive Board meeting. It is the responsibility of the members of each of the Commissions to support FISO´s efforts to develop Obstacle Course Racing and related Sports.

Athletes Commission

  

The Athletes Commission provides representation and development for athletes. The World OCR Development Committee is a working group of the Athletes Commission responsible for coaching, training, coach certification, and works with the Medical Commission to ensure the health and wellness of Junior, Youth and Adult athletes.

Governance Commission

The Governance Commission (GC) is World OCRs statutory authority responsible for developing obstacle sports worldwide. As such, the GC is responsible for assisting member national federations and sporting organisations develop operational and sporting excellence and increase participation.

Legal Affairs Commission

The Legal Affairs Commission advises the World OCR on juridical issues, with both a consultative and operational role.

Medical Commission

The Medical Commission is responsible for establishing conditions at World OCR sanctioned competitions, which ensure the health and safety of all participants. Controls all Anti-doping policies and activities of World OCR. Making sure that World OCR complies with the WADA code and the IOC and World OCR anti-doping rules.

Para-Athlete Commission

  • Ensures compliance of races to para-athlete accessibility
  • Represents para-athletes and ensures compliance of World OCR with IPC standards

Technical Commission

The Technical Commission supports the development of the sport. The Commission is advisory and submits Resolutions to the Executive Committee. Its duties are:  

  1. To supervise the application of the Competition Rules and Operations’ Manual.
  2. To prepare Resolutions concerning amendments to the Competition Rules and Operations’ Manual.
  3. To propose Technical Delegates for official World OCR competitions.​
  4. Assist and advise the Competitions Committee on matter related to conception, operations, policies and guidelines.

Women's Commission

  1. The Women's Commission ensures equal opportunity for women in Obstacle Sports
  2. Promotes recognition and representation of women
  3. Creates policy for integration of women in all areas of the sport


Women's Commission members have the right of representation on all committees and commissions of World OCR to provide advice and guidance for policies and recommendations to the Board and Executive.
